Is Unconditional Love Real?

The term Unconditional Love has become very popular.

It is a lovely thought isn’t it?

But what is its practical application?

Is it really possible for us to love unconditionally?

A lot of people like to use the example of a dog’s love as unconditional.  I disagree. Dogs are often loyal, beautiful companions and some are much evolved souls in service. But the very aspect of our relationship to domestic animals is based on the fact that we are housing, feeding and caring for them. I don’t know about you, but my dog is very demanding. Are we bonded? Absolutely. Still, I would call the relationship simple and refreshing but definitely not unconditional.

It is also common in religious circles to say that God’s Love is unconditional. But then it seems to be those same circles of people who talk about heaven and hell, judgment day, being rewarded in the afterlife.  God’s Love very well may be unconditional, but human’s interpretation of this love very rarely is.

Love verses Like

The key here is understanding the difference between LOVE and LIKE

Love is the endless flow of divine energy that is available to us in every moment.

Love is pure creative source energy flowing through us.

As we live more and more in conscious oneness, love is simply our natural state.

In this endless flow of love we are filled beyond measure. Then the overflow moves out into the world.

It simply flows without question about who is deserving of the flow.

In this state of conscious oneness, you no longer feel a need to control the flow of unconditional love moving through you.

You are not looking to others to fill your need for this energy because you have learned to tap into the source of love itself.

In this space you simply are love.

Then there is Like!!!

Like is totally conditional. As it should be.

Like is based on behaviors.

How someone treats you determines the degree to which you enjoy being in their presence.  When you are connected to source energy and divine love is flowing through you, it is much easier to see the beautiful reflection of God in everyone you meet.

That perfect reflection of love, however, is not always congruent with a person’s actions.

I definitely discovered this the hard way. When I was young, it was in my nature to always see the best in everyone I met. I had the typical “bad boy syndrome”. It didn’t only play out in romance though. I saw the best in everyone I met. I interacted with people based on the soul reflection I saw within them. I simply overlooked the behaviors that did not match the soul impression I knew to be their true selves.  After a few too many times of being slammed by the incongruence between the beauty I saw in people and the way they treated me, I learned the importance of the intersection of love and like.

Throwing out half the data, was not making life easy for me.

Sure, the soul reflection I see in people is the truest self. But the degree to which a person is integrated with their higher consciousness has a powerful impact on the human relationship. Now that I have learned to navigate the full spectrum of Oneness, I understand the interconnectedness of all the layers with which we express ourselves. My love is always unconditional. I continue to see the absolute perfection of each soul I meet. I allow my love to flow endlessly.

At the same time, I am aware of each person’s behaviors. I note, without judgment, how integrated their behaviors are with the Soul Reflection I see.  I then base my decisions on how I want to interact with each person on the intersection of the divine love I feel for them, and degree to which I like the way they currently interact with the world around them.

Sometimes, that means I choose to love people from afar. I choose not to interact with them closely in the Earth realm, but I always remain open to our connection in the higher frequencies. My love never changes. It is offered without condition.

However, I have absolutely learned what types of interactions and behaviors I enjoy in my life. This determines who I spend my time with on earth.
